The 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is set to be in full force on Sunday January 6, 2008. We will be keeping you informed of the highlights of the show and what goes on during the opening keynote by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

As always, Bill Gates of Microsoft will be opening CES as he has for 15 years, while this may be his last keynote at CES it is expected to be a good one this year. We should start hearing more information on the upcoming Internet Explorer 8 beta release as well as an update on the expected availability of Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1. While both service packs have reached the Release Candidate cycle in development, the company is still collecting feedback from the public and connect beta testers.

The first service pack for Windows Vista and the third for Windows XP are still slated to be released sometime during this quarter, we are hoping to hear more about a final release date for both service packs. Also at CES, we hope to learn more about what is in store for the future of the Windows platform, Microsoft has been preparing for CES and plans to make the show a great one.
