‘Windows Fiji’ to focus on HDTV support
Major update for Windows Media Center slated for 2008
By James Stables on 06 June 2008
Microsoft is working on an update to Windows Media Center which will focus on improved HDTV support, better internet integration and boosted performance in video and audio playback.
Rumours have surrounded the update, which has been codenamed ‘Fiji’ for about a year.
Sources close to Microsoft told Windows Vista: The Official Magazine that the update was due to be integrated into the Windows Vista SP1 update in March, but developers were rerouted to work on the Zune.
It seems that development is steaming ahead, and release is slated for later this year.
