When will the world catch up

Lack of software
By Ernie on 11 February 2007

We all have our new operating system and most of us love it. But when will the world catch up? There is an amazing lack of software written for Vista. I have listed in my blog "free spyware and anti-virus" stuff that does work on Vista (even though it was not written for Vista).

But should'nt it be time for someone to step out of the shadows and start writing applications for Vista.

What do I want?

Ableton Live to work under Vista (it does'nt)

A decent CD/DVD Writing package (Don't like Nero)

The ability to update Adobe CS 2

The wait starts here.

For your burning software I highly recommend Ashampoo Burning Studio. Works fine with Vista and has many burning options. Its not free, however it is not expensive.

Never tried it I will give it a whirl. If memory serves me you can download a trial from download.com. Thanks for the pointer :-)

Speaking of "catching up", have a look at this video of Apple OSX doing all those "cool" things Vista can do, all while Bill spouts his sales talk:

But, of course, we Official Vista Magazine readers don't like Apple because their products get bad reviews in this biased marketing pamphlet disguised as a magazine.

Watch them censor this.

Just hope it doesn't take as long as it does for 64 bit versions of the operating systems. A 64 bit driver for most items under Windows XP is very rare. I imaging that except for the largest companies there's a big arguement if to support a new operating system and I assume that they would wait for a larger take up of Vista before supporting it.
