Xbox 360 gets price cut
Get 'em from £180
By Jon on 20 August 2007
Microsoft has announced it's cutting the price of the Xbox 360 in the UK, following a similar reduction in the States. The Premium bundle now weighs in at £249.99 (that's £30 off) with a 20GB hard drive and a wireless controller, while the lesser Core version loses £20 down to £179.99 with no hard drive and a wired controller.

Sounds like a pretty solid Christmas present to me: Playstation 3 is still £400 and doesn't have nearly as many games, and even our resident Nintendo fanatic Chris admits that the cheaper Wii is a bit light on games right now. The 360 has a year's worth of decent releases behind it, and there are some big new arrivals just around the corner: Bioshock, Halo 3, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Mass Effect to name but a few.
More significantly for Windows Vista users, it makes the Core console that bit more tempting as a Media Center Extender. The Xbox 360 is still unrivalled at extending the features of Media Center to your living room while leaving your PC lurking in the office, and it's getting temptingly cheap.
