Work faster and stay organised by customising your Send To menu
Simple Windows Vista tweak lets you take control of your files
By James Stables on 05 June 2008
The Send To function is a great tool, and should be a one-stop easy-to-use list of locations where you can send your files at the click of a button.
However, in Windows Vista I just don’t feel that it’s set up for my needs, and often I’ll do things the long way round when they could easily be catered for in the Send To menu.
Helpfully, though, as with most facets of Windows the Send To folder can be easily customised to suit your needs.
Just open a Windows Explorer window and paste in the location:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
Next delete the shortcuts you don’t use, and add ones you do. Just right-click on a folder, click Create Shortcut and add this to the Send To folder.
Now when you right-click to send a file, your most used destinations will be just one click away.
