MICROSOFT VS APPLE

             It was only a few years ago when microsoft had 95% of the home p.c software market and nearly every home in the uk had a windows based operating system,however over the last year many windows users unhappy with windows vista have decided to move over to apple and the i-mac and mac book

              this is a worrying development for microsoft as their hold on the home p.c market has dropped to around 75% and with windows xp being removed from sale in july 2008 this could drop even further,so what is going to happen to windows

            well hopefully with "service pack 1" coming out mid march 2008 with many fixes and patches for vista this may be the "magic pill" microsoft need to iron out vistas long running issues

            you could say when vista sp1 is released its d-day for microsoft,if this update works and sorts out the problems vista has been experiencing then sales may increase and microsoft will regain its hold on the software market

           however if this update does nothing to keep vista users happy then we may see the end of vista,it will continue to be sold and many million people will use it but it will go down in history in the same chapter as "windows millenium"..a non starter

          personally i dont know what all the fuss is about,my wife has vista premium and has been very happy with it since i bought it for here in march 2007
