Microsoft rewards quality moofing
Rewards for companies who have revolutionized working
By James Stables on 06 September 2007
Moofing may sound ridiculous, but it’s a practice which is taking the business world by storm, and top moofers have been rewarded by Microsoft in the first ever People Moving Business Awards.
Don’t worry, you haven’t gone mad, moof is short for ‘mobile office’ and is the practice of taking your work out of the office, and into trains, cafes, cars and even garden sheds.
In the People Moving Business Awards moofers such as East Riding of Yorkshire Council who set up systems meaning pensioners in the area could receive £5.5 million of benefits which would previously have gone unclaimed.
Other winners included the London Borough of Lewisham Building Services, who used mobile working to reduce carbon emissions by 18.2 tonnes, and Coventry Universityu Enterprises who cut their cost per employee in half.
