Hi All,
I need some assistance desperately. I just moved to Europe from the States and purchased a new computer. Its an Everex, with Windows Vista automatically installed. The cptr also came auto installed with Norton Anti-Virus. I was being blocked or stock in download mode with no access to various sites. So I contacted Norton which cost me International calling rates since it was an 800 #. To great assistance the rep walked me thought 45 minutes of un-installing his program. I restarted my computer and I downloaded Avg Anti-Virus. I was excited thinking this was finally repaired. To my dismay I was still being blocked. My Mozilla was trying to download but would be in stuck mode. I added these site I want to access to my trusted sites and still nothing. I called my service provider and they walked me through their ping test which was a success. I was not being blocked on their end. I am extremely frustrated at this point. So I called a computer company who did remote access into my computer for 3 hours with no success. I want to know why I can access certain site but not others. I am so stressed out as this is my only way of communication with the states. If there is anyone with this problem who can help me , I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,
    Melissa W

Hi Its possible have the crap that norton installed is still there and is causeing you problemsm, failing that it could be your ISP's DNS Servers You may like to try https://www.opendns.com/ for help encae its a dns problem If that fails you then you could do a full system recover from the disk or the pc and then use the following tool to get rid of norton http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?Open&src=bar_sch_nam&docid=2004072316001306&nsf=nav.nsf&view=5faa3ca6df6f549888256edd0061c0a4&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl= hope this helps Good luck

Hi,

Not sure if this will help but it sounds like something still stopping you in Norton. I have had problems with this software in the past. Can you access the internet at all? Is it stopping you downloading? If so, give me your e-mail address or msn and I'll send you the Norton Removal tool via e-mail. If you can download it here is the link, http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/norton2008.nsf/docid/2007082908475279?Open&docid=2005033108162039&nsf=tsgeninfo.nsf&view=docid

Good luck, Mike O.

Hi Melissa, You might have better luck posting this in our forums. You've posted this on the bloglist, which isn't designed for help with problems. Thanks :) James
