Part One. Instillation, As Easy As ABC.
Well, the day has finally arrived! My copy of Windows Vista Home Premium is now sat beside me waiting to be opened and installed and within minutes I’m placing the disc into the drive and waiting for it to load.
This window should appear. There are several links here you can check compatibly, find out what you need to know before installing, transfer your files and settings and the final option to install now. I already know my computer will run Vista and I have no need to transfer my files and settings so I choose to Install Now.
Handy Tip:
If this windows doesn’t appear never fear, simply click Start > Computer > [Your CD/DVD drive].
Next I choose to for setup to install important updates during the instillation and check the box to help make the instillation better by sending information to Microsoft.
I then type in my product key found on the back of the pull down CD/DVD sleeve. It’s best to uncheck the activation while I’m online box in case of an event after the first few days something goes wrong and you need to re-install Windows Vista.
After I read and approved the license it’s time for me to decide whether to upgrade or just go for a full new instillation. I decide to go for a full new instillation. If you upgrade, all your files, programmes and settings will be untouched.
I then choose a partition and click next and the instillation starts. Unfortunately this means I can’t take any more set-up screen shots but its straight forward enough. So sit back and relax - all though not for too long as the Windows Vista instillation finishes in around about twenty minutes.
Hopefully all will go well during the instillation. If you are in need of help feel free to email me at
