FIND
Use Start Search to find Windows Security Center, the easy way to check the protection on your PC. If your system has any security weaknesses you will see a balloon appear on the desktop and a red shield on the taskbar.
CHECK
In Windows Security Center you’ll see the main areas of protection: firewall, automatic updating, malware and internet security. Any of these areas which are not covered will show up as red, requiring urgent attention.
SECURE
While Windows Firewall, Automatic Update and Windows Defender cover many of these, Windows Vista does not come with anti-malware included. Go to www.pctools.com for a selection of free and paid-for software.
