The best external hard drives for Windows Vista

The five most spacious and excellent of external storage devices.
Published on 27 February 2007

It's finally time to admit something; hard drives are awful things. They sit inside your computer, firmly rooted in one place, masquerading as the ultimate protectors of your precious data, then crash and burn one day for no good reason. It happens to everyone at least once, but never again, as losing everything on your computer is enough of a trauma to make you invest in the best backup solution possible. External hard drives are handy for carrying files where ever you go, great for transporting music and movies to friends houses, but essential if you fear losing even one file on your home computer.
