Vista has always been good. Someone else said they wouldn't go back to XP. XP was great but I found Vista is much better. No appreciable difference with SP1 but grateful to have it, all the same. MS are especially helpful with all their software - that's why I choose it above everything else!

Bought my pc 6 weeks ago and have found Vista to be an amazing improvement on my previous system (windows ME). However, it still has the odd crash every now and again, so I had big hopes for the Service Pack 1. However, I can't see any improvement and, annoyingly I now have to press windows key and F to get search function (found out thanks to your excellent magazine).

I can see no real difference to be honest but then I use Ultimate 64 bit edition. Apart from the additional Extras which are great.

No real speed improvements except I have noticed that copying to and from my external hard drives has slowed down which is not great

Vista always ran well for me and any friends/customers who had up to date hardware and software. SP1 really has made no tremendous difference in performance, positive or negative. Now those that have hardware that could barely run Vista have bitched about SP1. I personally have no idea how they even got SP1 to load for them being as the MS update site won't offer it if your machine doesn't cut it in their opinion. You can basically download SP1 (550MB or so)and then run it at your own risk. There is a great link on MS site that will take a quick snapshot of your machine and give you a thumbs up or thumbs down on your machine re: installing SP1. Overall I like Vista with or without SP1 more than XP SP3, any Linux or Mac OS.

I would have to say I haven't notice any change. Never have crashing or slowdown problems with Vista anytway. Not sure what all the fuss was about with SP1

No change and did nothing that I can see at all. Not very impressed at all.

I can't install it, I have tried about 20 times now and it still wont install. Having done a Google, it seems that thousnads all over the world are having the same problem. It would make a good magazine article for those of us who can't instal for whatever reason.
