Device Manager Problems

By Jackq on 31 May 2007

In Device Manager I am getting the exclamation warning sign for OTHER DEVICES these being MULTIMEDIA CONTROLLER,MULTIMEDIA VIDEO CONTROLLER AND RAID CONTROLLER. What is causing this? Is it something to do with the graphics card?

at a rough guess you've got a PC with several devices on the motherboard that are iether not used or uhnusable:

1. A SATA RAID controller to which no SATA drives are attached (probably booting of an old style IDE drive) If there are drives in your system that you are not seeing then they are probably attached to this controller.

2. Sound on the motherboard, do you have sound working at the moment?

Best thing to start with is to look in the system manual and see if you can dtermine what chipset is being used for RAID and Sound and then search for drivers. If that's beyond you, drop me an email (nik@alaweb.com) and I'll see if I can help you out.
