Computers to scan your brain
Microsoft patents mind probe technology - By Richard Keith

Microsoft has applied for a
patent to cover new technology, which is designed to collect details about computer user’s brain patterns.
The idea stems from frustrations about the lack of validity when researching people’s habits when using their PC.
The trouble is that having a researcher constantly monitoring someone’s PC use is a little distracting, and answering questionnaires doesn’t reflect true usage either.
Microsoft’s answer is a device which uses electroencephalograms (EEG) to monitor people's thought processes while they sit and work. They intend to use this data to improve the way user interfaces are designed by reading our subconscious thoughts.
The patent covers a filter which takes out erroneous data such as blinking, which affects EEG results. The only problem now is the problem of validity that arises while using a computer and having your brain scanned.
