Windows Live Messenger TV: exclusive screenshots!

Check out the pictures of the up-and-coming TV application for Windows Live Messenger – it’s going to be good.

A few days ago I wrote about some of the new video services that Microsoft is bringing out in 2008. One of these was Messenger TV, an integrated video player within Windows Live Messenger.

The video player runs in a chat window, so you and a friend who are talking to each other can view the same video, and you can both control it and add new clips. It’s got a search function too, and the video results come from the MSN Video Portal.

Anyway, enough of the talk – here are a few screen shots of Messenger TV in action. It’s currently in beta format (which is bizarrely only available to try in Italy), but Microsoft is planning to release it to the public in the summer, and most importantly – it’ll be free.
