Stephen Shankland looks at windows Live Photo Gallery.
By chris on Thursday, September 20, 2007
To be fair, if you're into photography at all you should have already downloaded the Windows Live Photo Gallery Beta, but in case your behind the times Stephen Shankland over at CNET has written a great write up on the current state of digital photos in Windows Vista. Of note:
- Microsoft is introducing the ability to select which photos you want to transfer when importing them from a digital camera
- New functionality in Windows Live Photo Gallery including sharpening images and integration with Live Spaces
- Problems between Adobe and Microsoft tagging, and the problems with sub-tagging incompatibility issues.
It's interesting, if only for yet highlighting yet another feud between Microsoft and Adobe. On the surface, who controls the format of tagging seems trivial, but with almost every website online now actively using tagging in some way, could it be something worth pursuing?
