Windows Vista Anti-Virus

By smuggler on 18 August 2007

I have just bought a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium installed. With it comes a 90 day free trial version of McAfee Security. I do not want to activate it as I have never used McAfee before, and I have only heard bad things about it. My home PC (Windows XP)runs ZoneAlarm Security Suite v7.0 which I know will not run on Vista. I had used Norton AV and Firewall before this (2 years), but in my opinion ZA beats it hands down! HELP! What's best for my laptop!

ZA now has a version for Vista, though I found it slow my laptop down no end.
Currently using AVG anti virus and PC tools firewall plus, so far so good

I ditched McAfee after the 90 day period and installed AVG free version. The only minus side I explained in my 'Trojon Horse' episode mentioned in another blog.

Among shareware, I'd recmnd ZASS or KIS Among freeware, Abast or AVG AV. In Vista Windows Defndr and Vista FW are good enough to keep you protected.
