So far, talking to PC has largely been confined to sci-fi movies and episodes of Star Trek. But, just as Kirk's communicator inspired the development of the mobile phone (or cell phone, if you're across the Atlantic), the dream of such technology is moving people to make it a reality. If you're at all interested in keeping up-to-date on developments of speech recognition, I'd recommend looking at this new blog from the very team in Microsoft who developed this functionality - albeit, slightly more privative - for Windows Vista.
