Review: Dell 37-inch LCD TV W3707C

Published on Sunday, April 08, 2007

With Windows Vista, your PC is way more than just a computer. With every copy of Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, you get a powerful entertainment center called Windows Media Center, which lets you share pictures, music, and—more importantly—movies from your Windows Vista PC to your living room entertainment center via the Xbox 360. To take advantage of all that movie-sharing magic, you’ve just got to have an HD television.

Dell’s 37-inch LCD TV W3707C delivers beautiful 1,366 x 768 image resolution and 1080i HDTV quality in a smart package that’s as at-home in your home office as it is in your living room. Replete with a wealth of connectivity options, including two HDMI ports and two component HDTV ports, this LCD easily hosts all of your entertainment accessories, from DVD players and VCRs to Xboxes and PCs.

We love the W3707C’s intuitive remote control, which makes it easy to switch between all of the components in even the busiest home theater setup. And the TV’s sleek, black design looks great on any entertainment stand. We do, however, wish the connector ports were positioned for easier access from the sides, because on low-lying installations it can be difficult to reach under the set to move cables around. All things considered, however, that’s a small gripe for a TV offering so many features in a $1,599 package.
